RVA Global Game Jam 2017: A Success!

A big congratulations to everyone who participated in this years RVA Global Game Jam! Sponsored by the Departments of Communication Arts, Art Education and Kinetic Imaging Global Game Jam is an annual international accelerated video game development challenge. Students, alumni, novices and members of the local indie game community come together for 48 hours to make a video game, this year from January 20th – 22nd at The Depot.

This year’s guest speaker was noted video game developer and founder of NewGrounds.com, Tom Fulp, whose site had become one of the most prominent digital media. After the presentation, teams are formed then, at the allotted time, a theme is announced and the game jam begins! This year’s theme was waves.
