Charli Brissey currently resides in Richmond, VA where she makes work with her hands, her body, and with cameras. She has shown a lot of different types of work in a lot of different types of places, spaces, and festivals around the globe and hopes to continue doing so for quite some time. Her interests and inspirations shift and develop depending on what books she is reading at that time. Some consistent focal points include: animalism, body politics, decolonization, dreams, expectations, gender, language, manipulation, memory, movement, perception, representation, and a whole lot else. In June 2013 Brissey will present her research on shame and queer representation at the International Diversity Conference in Darwin, Australia.
