Administrative Director, Assistant Professor
MFA, Interior Environments, Virginia Commonwealth University
BS, Theological Studies, Kentucky Christian University
Rob recently made the transition into the design world, graduating with an MFA in Interior Environments in 2008 after spending quite a few years in the realm of information technology. In 2009, he returned to the Department of Interior Design to serve as Administrative Director of the BFA program. In 2010, he began teaching the lighting and color courses for undergraduates and graduates, giving him ample opportunity to further study lighting and thus combine his aptitudes for art and design with those of science and technology. In addition to his work at VCU, Rob focuses on smaller-scale residential design projects while exploring luminaire design and the intersection of traditional material and modern lighting technology.
Rob is currently serving on the Urban Design Committee for the City of Richmond. He is an associate member of the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES), and an educational member of the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD).
