Wesley Taylor is a graphic designer, fine artist, musician, and curator as well as a co-founding partner of Emergence Media, a network of artistic producers based in Detroit, Michigan. He manages a five-person artists’ studio collective in Detroit called Talking Dolls, and has spent many years “scene building” in that city’s hip-hop community as both an emcee and graphic designer.
Taylor’s most recent body of work revolves around the promise of the future; he imagines that “the future” is his client and he is in charge of marketing for “the future” and branding its many possibilities.
He previously taught at Lawrence Technological University, Wayne State University, and Eastern Michigan University. He graduated from Cranbrook Academy of Art with his MFA and the University of Michigan with his BFA.
Wesley Taylor is currently an Assistant Professor in Art Foundation and in the Department of Graphic Design.
