  • VCU Fashion Career Day

    VCU Fashion Career Day will take place on Friday October 3, 2014.  This event is planned for students interested in fashion.  Approximately 500 high school students and their teachers visit the VCU campus and meet in the Student commons to hear fashion industry professional speak about their careers.  The first session will run from 10:30-12:00 and the second session from 12:30-1:30.

  • Visiting Artist Steven Broadway

    VCU Fashion will be hosting fashion illustrator Steven Broadway September 25 – September 26.  During his visit he will work with each level of fashion design student and conduct a fashion drawing workshop that is open to other arts majors.  For more information, please contact Kim Guthrie at kguthri1@vcu.edu

  • VCU Qatar Day

    VCU Qatar Day will take place on Tuesday, September 30th.  For the past several years, students, staff, and faculty members from VCU Qatar travel from Doha to spend a week on the Richmond campus.  VCU Qatar Day helps spread awareness about our international campus in Doha, Qatar through its cultural traditions and interactions.  Stay tuned for details about the day’s events.

     

  • Guest Lecturer: Sass Brown

    VCU Fashion is excited to welcome Sass Brown.  Ms. Brown will be working with fashion design and merchandising students and give a talk on sustainable design and eco fashion.

    Sass Brown is Acting Assistant Dean for the School of Art and Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology.  As a researcher, writer, blogger and educator, her area of expertise is eco fashion, in all of its various expressions, from slow design and heritage craft skills to recycle, reuse and new business models. Ms. Brown communicates and promotes the best in eco fashion design, through a multitude of media, most notably her books; Eco Fashion and ReFashioned, her website www.ecofashiontalk.com and her journalism.
