Feature Film Directed by Cinema Alumnus 2018 RIFF Official Selection Mar 2, 2018

Right Now a Moment, a feature film written and directed by Cinema Alum Maurice Vellas (’15), was admitted as an Official Selection to the 2018 Richmond International Film Festival.

“A taxi driver and young stranger. A film about clinging to what’s lost and living with what is.” Right Now a Moment is an emotional narrative journey with breathtaking visuals and enchanting performances that leave you holding your breath awaiting resolution.

Shot on 16mm film in and around Richmond, the crew was comprised of current Cinema students and alumni along with some industry professionals. “I’m especially happy that it’s traveling to Richmond, the city where the film was conceived, produced, and where a large part of the cast and crew still reside,” Vellas said of being admitted to the local festival.
