Rome Prize goes to Sculpture Professor


The American Academy in Rome is pleased to present the winners of the 118th annual Rome Prize Competition. The names were announced at the Arthur & Janet C. Ross Rome Prize Ceremony held at the Harmonie Club in New York City on April 10, 2014. Congratulations to Assistant Professor in the Department of Sculpture + Extended Media, Corin Hewitt, who received a 2014-2015 Rome Prize for Visual Arts. He will be provided with a fellowship that includes a stipend, a study or studio, and room and board for a period of six months to two years in Rome, Italy. His award was recognized in Art in America magazine. The Rome Prize is one of the most important and internationally respected opportunities for an arts’ professional.
