Mona Al Ansari Collection earns VCUQ Fashion Award

VCUQatar student Mona Al Ansari recently debuted her collection “Edifice” at the premiere Qatari lifestyle hotel W Doha’s Living Room. Al-Ansari was awarded the second edition of the W Doha and the VCUQ Fashion Award during an hour long fashion show presenting her collection.

Mona Al Ansari is fast becoming one of the country’s most exciting fashion talents, having won the second edition of the W Doha and VCUQ Fashion Award earlier this year. “Edifice” was inspired by the W Doha and comprised of trendy colors and a lot of unusual shapes. The line, which consisted of 24 unique pieces, was debuted during an evening presentation in front of a selection of Doha’s fashionistas and notable members from the local design and fashion industries.

Al Ansari commented, “Today’s modelled designs reflect the modern face of Qatar, and are inspired by the W Doha, one of the most vibrant symbols of this forward thinking Qatari attitude. I was delighted to be able to present my collection in front of such a important selection of Qatari residences and look forward to a close on going partnership with W Doha”. Al Ansari, also stated: “I feel honoured to have won the W Doha and VCUQ Fashion Award and consider this as both a privilege and a responsibility to keep representing the best of Qatar”.
