Override Policy

Art History Undergraduate Course Registration & Override Information –

Summer 2013 & Fall 2013

The Department of Art History is committed to finding seats for students in classes for which they satisfy the prerequisites, but because of limited seat availability in many courses, we cannot promise a seat. Students who have met the prerequisites but are unable to register on line may complete anoverride form and e-mail it to arthistory@vcu.edu.   Overrides are only accepted and provided electronically.

You must first verify that you have met the appropriate prerequisite listed below (also listed in the schedule of classes and at vcu.edu/courses).  DO NOT drop off the forms in Harris Hall or the Department Office, they will not be processed.  Override permission is only obtained through the process explained here, not through the professor of the course. If the course is full, overrides will not be given but we encourage you to continue to check the schedule periodically as we anticipate some add/drop activity.  The department does not keep a wait list.  Overrides are not given for ARTH 103, 104, 207, 245, 270 or 271.

IMPORTANT: University policy states that students are not to attend any course in which they are not officially enrolled.
