Creative Arts Day Camp
Summer 2013 Program Overview
The Department of Art Education at VCUarts is offering the Creative Arts Day Camp for children rising into grades K- 9. Classes are divided by age and three to four classes are offered each session. The camp gives participants experience in various art media such as: digital art, sculpture, painting, clay, fibers, printmaking and drawing. Classes are held on the VCU campus and will be taught by undergraduate and graduate art education students.
This summer, Creative Arts Day Camp is getting Up Close and Contemporary! Students will explore the fascinating world of contemporary art, learning about the artistic concepts, processes, and media of today. Join us as we use Richmond’s historic buildings as inspiration to design our own contemporary architecture, or build eco-sculpture from entirely repurposed materials. Each week will be different, so participants may sign up for more than one session!
