Second Degree Students

Some students with a previous BA or BFA choose to apply to our BFA program as an alternate route to licensure. Like our MAE+Licensure Program, the BFA will typically take five semesters to complete.

Second Degree Students are required to fulfill the same requirements for graduation as our undergraduate students, however many credits from ┬áprevious coursework will likely transfer, especially in studio art and art history. It is very possible to complete this degree as a part time student. This program also allows students to take diverse studio classes in VCU’s nationally ranked School of the Arts. This is a terrific benefit of our BFA program!

Student wishing to apply to be a Second Degree student should fill out an application in time for the Transfer Student Deadline. http://arts.vcu.edu/admissions/how-to-apply/undergraduate/
