Investigation NOW
posted on February 5, 2013 in News + EventsThe Department of Art Education at Virginia Commonwealth University is offering Investigation NOW: The Strange, Familiar, and Transformative, an art-based multi-disciplinary educational program for 8th and 9th grade students! This exciting new program uses art as a form of inquiry to explore contemporary issues (to include concepts such as confrontation, risk, and distortion) that transcend disciplinary boundaries. Through the hands-on exploration of the contemporary, students will dig into how these ideas intersect and overlap in the real world. This class takes place for 10 three-hour sessions on Friday evenings and is taught by graduate and undergraduate pre-service art educators.
This program is for you if:
- You love thinking across boundaries.
- You see art as an important part of the world.
- You want to dig deeply into how contemporary art ideas engage real world issues NOW.
