Anderson Gallery presents Environment and Object, Recent African Art.Organized by the Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College, this exhibition examines recent African art according to two fluid and often intertwined aesthetic and conceptual frameworks: the impact of the environment on contemporary African life, and the use of found objects and appropriated materials as a recurring presence in current African art. Page Bond Gallery presents New Works: an exhibition of paintings by Will Berry, in conjunction with “it is what it is” : an exhibition of recent paintings by Painting and Printmakingalumni ERIK GONZALEZ.Erik Gonzalez’s recent work investigates imagemaking via a number of cultural, historical and material lenses. Painting and Printmaking Presents: Interaction 39Twenty graduating seniors from the Painting and Printmaking Department will be exhibiting works on paper. These works are created from a variety of media, including lithography, etching, silkscreen, oil, charcoal, and digital based imagery, as well as representing a large range of ideas, from social commentary to personal iconography. The public reception will be held on Tuesday, November 22 from 5-6:30 pm.

Media Art + Text Student Guild Presents: MATX MIXTAPES v.2.1
Backscatter 03 (Gamma) a performance by Mark Cetilia
Backscatter 03 (Gamma) is an improvisational performance that uses shortwave radio transmissions and analogue modular synthesis as the sole source material for realtime processing. This piece utilizes Gnu Radio software in conjunction with Ettus Research LLC’s Universal Software Radio Peripheral for realtime data acquisition and demodulation, as well as custom software built in Supercollider and Max/MSP and live modular synthesis patching for realtime signal generation and manipulation. It is an exploration of architectural space through the use of site- and time-specific information found in regions of the electromagnetic spectrum outside of the reaches of the human sensory apparatus.

Manystuff, founded and run by Charlotte Cheetham, is a blog that promotes the culture of graphic design.
